Seriously, I wish more of the Twitter crowd would play over here; it's so much easier to follow convos in here. I even have it set up so that any thread I start, or even reply to, shows up in my Outlook. We could even start our own channel if we wanted one.
Yeah, threads here are far better. Far easier to find more like-minded people when you see who contributes to a thread and go "yeah, that's a cool person... I'll start following them". With twitter, you gotta know whom you're already gonna follow before you can discover them!
But, in Twitter's defense, at least they have a U.S. shortcode that even I can use, with my antique Nokia. I'd have to have one of those "fancy phones" to use Jaiku mobile. Ain't gonna happen, unless "a certain Nokia employee who happens to be related to me" feels sorry for me and gives me one. lol
Twitter's popularity and speed of posts is addictive. Jaiku and Pownce are more powerful and complete due to threads. All are fun to find (stalk) new virtual friends with. Supprised that more folks didn't make the jump to J or P. Anyone need an invite - Have a few more to Pownce thanks to L.C. and Kevin.
I wonder if pownce invites are not moving anymore these days.... I still have my 28 if anyone wants one or knows anyone else who wants one or two or... well, you get the idea.
@hotfish I don't know of anybody; still have 28 or so myself. I finally found a use for Pownce, btw; grabbing music files that others upload to it. I might even share some of my own, eventually, but I have pretty eclectic tastes.
@tndaisy - eclectic is just another word for different. we ALL want to be different these days. (OK, different really mean weird, right? lol) I know a number of those with eclectic taste. (Not me of course. I am just boring)
